WheelSpinner

A color name picker — and a custom-color wheel

This color wheel picker does two things: it spins to randomly pick one color NAME from a list (not a hue-relationship diagram like the artist's color theory wheel), and separately, it lets you customize the colors of the wheel itself. Teachers use the name-picker side for a “wear this color today” classroom game; designers use it to force a color choice when starting a new palette; party hosts use it for team-color assignments. Edit the list to match exactly the colors you need, including specific shades or hex-named colors.

Spin the wheel with custom colors

Open the Style tab to change what the wheel itself looks like, separately from what its slices say. Pick from ready-made palettes (Golden, Neon, Gem, Wedding, and a dozen more), or hit Randomize for a fresh custom color set every time. This is different from the color-name list above the slices control what the wheel SAYS; the Style tab controls what the wheel LOOKS like — combine both for a fully custom color wheel spinner.

What a color wheel picker is used for

Designers spin it to break a color-choice deadlock when starting a new project. Teachers use it for daily classroom color themes or simple color-recognition games with younger kids. Party hosts use it to randomly assign team colors. Artists use it as a quick prompt generator — spin, then draw or paint something in that color.

Common Questions About Color Wheel Picker

Is this the same as a color theory wheel?

No — the slices are a random color name picker, not a hue-relationship diagram. The Style tab is where you customize the wheel's actual colors.

Can I spin the wheel with custom colors?

Yes — open the Style tab to pick a preset palette or hit Randomize for a fresh custom color set applied straight to the wheel.

Can I add specific shades instead of basic colors?

Yes — edit any slice to a more specific color name in List or Text mode.

Is this good for team-color assignments?

Yes — many hosts use it exactly that way for group activities.
